What Makes NOA Unique?

Two traits that make NOA unique are openness and providing an automation platform as a service by OEM for their endcustomer.

Openness: NOA is manufacturer-independent and compatible with hardware from KEB as well as third-party providers. The only requirements are a Linux operating system and a Docker installation. NOA standardly offers apps for communication through open standards (e.g., OPC UA) and enables easy horizontal and vertical integration of components all the way to central management via the NOA Portal. Additionally, users are able to install their own apps as Docker containers on NOA devices, allowing them to individually expand the functionality of their machines.

Automation platform as a service: OEM are able to offer their end customers an automation platform in connection with their machines through NOA, thereby increasing the value of their machines. The NOA Portal is structured in tenants. These are separate units where users can manage their devices and collect machine data. OEM can provide end customers with subtenants, white-label them, and capture usage metrics. This also enables new data-driven business models (e.g., pay-per-use).
